Vango Aero Compact Camping Mattress

Gone are the days when camping involved a tent, a sleeping bag and the skills required to make a fire. Camping has become increasingly comfortable as of late, and campers do not hesitate to leave the house without a trusty sleeping mat in tow.

British-based camping supply company Vango has a line of Aero products that are extremely lightweight yet high in quality. The Aero Compact inflatable mattress, which weighs only 1.5 pounds, comes in three sizes (short, medium and standard) and is an ideal accompaniment for a camping trip of any length.

Although slim (3 centimeters thick), the mattress is fully insulated and keeps campers warm while sleeping on the cold ground. The non-slip surface keeps your sleeping bag connected to the mat so there is no sliding around in the middle of the night.

The high-pressure areas of the mat (i.e., the feet, hips and shoulders) feature extra padding while the remaining low-pressure areas are more porous to allow the mat to fold into its compact size.

The Vango Aero Compact mattress is available in lime green or blue, and comes with its own carrying sack and a small repair kit. The mattress can be purchased on Vango´s website for £40 (approximately $53) or on Amazon for varying prices.
