Yosemite Facelift is an annual clean-up event at Yosemite National Park bringing volunteers together to remove trash from the landscape. This year, beyond just the warm and fuzzy feeling you get from volunteering, you can also reap other rewards for participating. For 2023, if you stay at nearby Rush Creek Lodge & Spa before Oct. 5 and can prove participation in the event, you’ll receive a complimentary spa detox experience, as well as access to the spa’s many amenities, such as its mineral hot tub, outdoor lounge, aromatherapy steam room and more.
Yosemite Facelift takes place Sept. 20–24 and celebrates its 20th year in operation. Over those 20 years, the event has removed 1 million pounds of trash from the park thanks to the help of the thousands of volunteers who attend the event each year. Volunteers can choose to simply participate for as little as an hour, or can commit to a longer, multiday volunteer project. The event also includes daily giveaways, guest speakers and live music.
Register for the event by Sept. 11 to ensure a gate pass and participation.
Not going to be in the Yosemite area in September? Check out Facelift’s other event locations, with opportunities to volunteer in major outdoor adventure hubs around the country all fall.
