With the rise of sustainable tourism and the increased focus many travelers place on how their tourism impacts local communities, African Bush Camps now offer a new way for safari-going travelers to not just limit the negative impacts travel has on a destination’s communities, but also actually create a positive impact, via the brand’s Impact Safaris.

What does an Impact Safari entail? First and foremost, each guest booking includes a donation that goes toward education, conservation and community empowerment in communities throughout Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. What does this mean on a tangible level? As an example, in 2022, African Bush Camps Foundation used funds like these to renovate three schools, support nearly 30 teachers and families, aid more than 700 students and feed 80 families with nearly 9,000 meals.
Beyond the donation portion of an Impact Safari, though, these travel experiences also allow travelers to immerse themselves within the communities they’re helping, via school and clinic visits, where they can then volunteer.

All the while, travelers also enjoy staying in African bush camps and lodges, where luxurious accommodations make for an unforgettable experience.
Impact Safaris start at $7,825 and rates include nine-night accommodation, meals and drinks, internal flights, activities and more.
