The Florida Space Coast is synonymous with Kennedy Space Center, the main attraction for a lot of travelers. However, this destination has so much more to offer.
So, what else can you do while you’re there? The beaches are a good place to start. The Space Coast is also the Surf Capital of the East Coast, so find a surf school and get out on the waves. A favorite spot is Cocoa Beach.
Golf is also an option if that’s your preferred outdoor activity. There are dozens of golf courses in the vicinity (along with mini golf courses, if that’s more your speed).
Additionally, the educational attractions don’t begin and end at Kennedy Space Center. There are more than two dozen museums in the region, including American Space Museum and Space Walk of Fame, Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum, Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science, and several historic home museums, among other options.
“Florida’s Space Coast is known for being a lowkey, no-fuss travel destination, especially for families looking to take a break from busy theme parks, activity-packed cruises and jam-packed itineraries,” explained Peter Cranis, executive director, Space Coast Office of Tourism.
