Brazilian airline GOL now offers non-stop service between Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Orlando (MCO), with service four times weekly.
The airline — which touts itself as the most on-time in Brazil — will employ an Airbus A330 for the route for greater capacity, with room for almost 300 travelers. Additionally, these aircraft will feature GOL’s new Business Insignia class, which features fully flat beds and comes with lounge access at certain airports. Meanwhile, passengers will enjoy an in-flight menu crafted by a Michelin-star chef, with three-course lunches and dinners.
Once travelers arrive in Rio de Janeiro, they’ll then have the option to connect to more than 30 other destinations, both within Brazil and throughout Latin America.
This is only the latest of one of GOL’s recent expansions throughout the United States. A few days prior to the announcement of the new Rio–Orlando service, GOL announced its first long-haul route, with service between Rio and New York City (JFK). This service begins July 8 and is available three times weekly. It will also utilize the Airbus A330.
Additionally, this year, GOL announced new service between Rio de Janeiro and Paris (CDG) and Portugal (LIS), for its first-ever direct flights to Europe.
