On a recent trip to Los Angeles, I had the pleasure of staying at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City. I visited in December and, despite the warm weather outside, an elaborate display of festive décor greeted me upon entering the lobby.
My room wasn’t quite ready when I arrived, so I was escorted to a cozy waiting room and offered coffee, tea and snacks. The room was worth the wait. I was booked in a superior king room, which featured a separated office-like section, with a large desk and a comfortable seating area. The room featured two large TVs and a large luxurious bathroom complete with a deep soaker tub, waterfall shower, lovely Agraria San Francisco products and comfortable robes. The room’s design was simple and elegant, and the bed was nothing short of heavenly.
The views of the city from my room and balcony were beautiful, expanding to the coast and surrounding mountains. Sipping my complimentary coffee on the balcony each morning was a highlight of my stay.
I enjoyed a fabulous lunch at the hotel’s signature Mari restaurant and drinks at The Copper Lounge, a chic, modish bar and lounge situated next to the lobby, which offers small plates, a menu of creative cocktails and a great wine and beer list.
With a prime location on Century City’s Avenue of the Stars, next door to Fox Studios, it took only a couple minutes to get to Rodeo Drive via the hotel’s complimentary car service.
While I wasn’t able to take advantage of some of the hotel’s amenities during my short visit, it does feature a beautiful spa, a 24-hour fitness center and an outdoor infinity edge pool and Jacuzzi. Overall, the hotel itself was a perfect blend of contemporary sophistication and glamour, and I recommend it to anyone staying in LA for business or leisure.
