Bleisure is the new trend these days for the 21st-century business executive, and those who have racked up the air miles thanks to the repetitive work trips will know it’s not all fun and games. It can get boring and monotonous and being away from family and friends can get depressing.
This is where bleisure enters as the solution, the art of fastening on time around business trips. Tack on a day or two at either end of your trip to see the sights and sounds of the city you’re visiting and you won’t be dreading that networking event you have to go to. What’s more, all out-of-the-box thinking bosses will be on board with this — you only need to ask.
One downside to this bookended leisure time is you’d be playing the tourist solo. Unless that’s your game, then you may find it quite lonely. If you can combine the leisure part of bleisure with family or friends for a few days, or even a few weeks, then you’ll have found the perfect combination.
