Under $100 / North America

Jackson is the capital and largest city in Mississippi. The city offers plenty of outdoor and cultural activities to enjoy for less than $100 a day.

Start your day with breakfast at Primo’s Café. A favorite among locals, the diner-style restaurant serves up breakfast classics starting at $4.50. Breakfast is served all day. Go for a stroll through LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. The 305-acre park features a variety of nature trails. The day use fee is $4.

Have lunch at The Manship Wood Fired Kitchen. The menu items meld Mediterranean and Southern cuisine. Choose from small plates, sandwiches, salads and pizza. Lunch specials are available Monday–Friday. Spend $15–20. Please note: The restaurant is closed on Sunday.

Visit the Mississippi Museum of Art. The largest museum in Mississippi, the permanent and temporary exhibits mainly focus on American artists, with special attention to artists from Mississippi and other parts of the south. Admission to ongoing exhibits is complimentary. Fees vary for special exhibitions.

Enjoy barbeque plates with a twist at Pig & Pint. Start with an appetizer ranging from pork belly corn dogs to smoked chicken disco fries. Sandwiches, including BBQ brisket, start at $8.99. If you’re really hungry, order a barbeque plate complete with two sides starting at $12.99.

Have a nightcap at The Apothecary at Brent’s Drugs. The speakeasy lounge serves up classic and unusual cocktails starting around $10. There are plenty of beer and wine options available if that is more your speed.
