Foodies, you’re going to want to listen: Even though World Food Day (Oct. 16) already passed, we still wanted to share a list of 2025’s Best Foodie Cities in America, according to WalletHub. So, what cities take the top spots for foodies?

  1. Miami, Florida
  2. Portland, Oregon
  3. San Francisco, California
  4. Seattle, Washington
  5. Orlando, Florida
  6. Austin, Texas
  7. Tampa, Florida
  8. Las Vegas, Nevada
  9. Sacramento, California
  10. San Diego, California

The study also found St. Louis is home to the most gourmet specialty food stores, while Pearl City, Hawai’i, has the least. This may not be surprising, but Las Vegas has the most restaurants per square root of population. Cape Coral, Florida, has the highest ratio of full-service restaurants to fast-food options, while Jackson, Mississippi, holds the fewest. For those with a sweet tooth, Orlando, Florida, has the most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops.

“In the best foodie cities, including Miami, FL, Portland, OR, and San Francisco, CA, there are tons of unique culinary experiences to try, from food trucks to specialty-food stores to, in some cities, Michelin-starred restaurants. The top cities cater not just to people who enjoy dining out, but also to foodies who enjoy putting their own skills to the test by exploring new flavors in their own kitchens. In addition, these cities make delicious dining affordable for residents and visitors alike,” said Chip Lupo, analyst, WalletHub

To determine the best and cheapest food scenes, Wallethub took a look at more than 180 of the largest U.S. cities and compared each across 28 key metrics including affordability, accessibility, quality of restaurants, number of food festivals, breweries and more.
