Black Diamond’s Pro Shock trekking poles for women are lightweight, with built-in shock-absorption to help your legs hold up on long, challenging hikes.

You’ll spend $139 on these poles, but it’s a great investment if you plan to use them every time you hike. They’ll help save your knees and provide stability going downhill, and help you get up steep slopes whether you’re carrying a heavy pack or just out for a day hike.

Overall, the poles are fairly comfortable, though you may develop sore spots on your hands after several hours of use. Still, this is pretty common with hiking poles and Black Diamond added a padded strap and comfortable handles to eliminate soreness.

The poles’ length is adjustable, so they’re one-size fits all. This also means you can easily adjust the poles for the terrain; you’ll want them longer if you’re going downhill, shorter going up. It’s easy to make sure they’re the same length as the poles are marked for length, and they come with a flick lock to hold the extensions in place.

After much use though, sometimes the writing wears off a little, so that’s one downside.
