Many adventure companies are providing travelers with opportunities to enjoy more active vacations with bicycle tours. By opting for a bicycle instead of a ride in a car, bus or train, travelers are offered more active and intimate travel experiences and are able to cover more ground than walking.

Ciclismo Classico invites travelers to pedal their passion on the Canary Islands with a week-long warm weather bike tour. The itinerary explores Gran Canaria, the second largest of the Canary Islands, via rides that vary from sea level to 6,300 feet and offers views of lush forests, deserts and volcanic mounts. The four-day journey takes participants through Santa Rita Ecological Reserve, El Tambo Trail, The Road of the Lahars and down Cotopaxi Volcano. Rates start from $775 per person.

Journey past rice paddies and lush forests in the northeastern corner of Vietnam with Ride & Seek on a tour this March. The journey takes travelers through the remote region of Ha Giang, an area the Vietnamese government restricted travel through until relatively recently. Rates start from $2,500 per person.
