Planning a trip to Chile for 2023? If it’s your first visit to the country, make sure you have these three must-sees on your itinerary.
The Colchagua Valley
Wine fan or not, you can’t miss a visit to the Colchagua Valley, known for producing Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Visit wineries and take some tours, but also see what else there is to do and experience in the region, including visiting historic museums (like Colchagua Museum) and fine-dining restaurants. Also try seeing the region from a unique vantage point, like from the train traveling from San Fernando and through the valley.
Patagonia
Outdoor adventurers know Patagonia as one of the world’s most extreme and beautiful destinations. Hike through the region’s mountains and forests, seeing caves, lakes and lookouts. Make sure to prep carefully, as the conditions aren’t for the faint of heart, and book a guide. Do also note Patagonia is best visited during the region’s spring, summer and fall months, September–May.
The Lake District
Chile’s Lake District is a picturesque part of the country that, like Patagonia, is known for its beautiful landscapes. You’ll find national parks, mountains, unique flora and fauna — plus luxury hotels.

Insta FeedAre You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?
Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
