Think of New York tourism and you may think of visiting New York City (obviously) or popular tourist hubs like the Finger Lakes, Catskills or Adirondacks. But if you don’t have Rochester, New York, on your travel list this year, you may be missing out. The city offers a wealth of fun events for 2023, including the below can’t-miss events.
Rochester is nicknamed the Flower City and, during the annual lilac festival, you can check out the continent’s largest collection of lilacs across 10 days of fun, May 12–21.
Golf fans will want to make tracks for Oak Hill Country Club in May as well, for the 2023 PGA Championship, May 18–21.
In June, Rochester celebrates all things craft cocktails, with the state’s only designated craft cocktail festival taking place over a week, June 5–11.
One of the largest fringe festivals in the country, Rochester Fringe Festival debuted in 2012 and now attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. This year’s fest takes place Sept. 12–23.
Also in September, Purple Foot Festival is a grape-stomping festival and one of the largest in this part of the country. This year’s exact dates have yet to be announced.
