Many of us have trouble functioning in the mornings without a good cup of coffee to get us going, and that doesn’t suddenly change just because we decide to head into the woods for an extended camping excursion. That means we have to find ways to make coffee outdoors.
Pre-Made At Home
Coffee can be made the same way as tea; you just have to prep it at home. Pour the coffee grounds into a filter and tie it off at the top with some twine, then when you’re at the campground all you have to do is boil some water and dip the coffee-filled filter in a cup with the water for a few moments and you’re good to go.
Campsite Percolator
You can always opt for the more expensive, though tastier, route and buy a percolator. The percolator will separate the grounds and water and allow it to drip much like a traditional coffee pot, though you can control the length and flavor.
Drip Cones
Instead of carrying along an entire coffee filtering system, just buy a drip cone. They can be placed overtop of a boiling pot of water to keep the grounds and water separate and the cone doesn’t take up much room in your pack.
Take a Thermos
Honestly, the simplest route is to just brew the coffee at home and carry it in a container that’ll keep it warm on your trip. Or drink cold coffee. It’s not the best option, but beggars can’t be choosers!
