Overnight App: Last-Minute Lodging with Locals

The beauty of traveling is the opportunity to plan each and every minute to fully take advantage of precious vacation time. Luckily, there is an app in development that lets travelers book same-day accommodations with a local.

Connecting with locals has been an increasing travel trend recently, ever since the advent of Airbnb, couch surfing and stepping off the beaten path in a new destination. An app called Overnight capitalizes on this trend by letting locals open their doors to travelers desperately seeking last-minute lodging.

Travelers can download the app, enter their location and find opportunities to crash with locals for reasonable prices. Requests to stay can be made with one click, after which the host will contact the traveler directly with more information about availability and prices. An interactive map lets users search for lodging based on their current location or where they plan to be when bedtime rolls around.

Both hosts and travelers can receive ratings and reviews based on their past experiences, and profiles include multiple photos and a brief biography so all parties involved can get to know each other before agreeing to connect. Once the host approves the guest, the guest will receive more information about the accommodations, and they can decide whether they are ready to book.

The app lets travelers find, book and pay for lodging, making instant travel a present reality.
