You’ve met the charging case. Have you met the solar-powered charging case? This revolutionary invention allows users to become completely independent of conventional charging methods, as long as they have access to some natural sunlight. SUNNY, the company behind this revolutionary phone case, has been operating for more than one year now.
Solar energy is one of the most convenient, easily accessible forms of alternative energy, as it is simple yet abundant. When the phone case has access to sunlight, it can store a sizable chunk of energy. Of course, this can be a problem for users in cities like Seattle, which gets a measly 71 days of sunshine per year. When sunlight is inaccessible, users rely on previously generated energy or simply plug their phone in the old-fashioned way.
Several cases have an emergency solar charging feature, like the EnerPlex case, but none are entirely detached from conventional energy in the same way SUNNY is. The problem consumers currently face with the outlet-free phone case is twofold. Currently, just one model is being produced: a case for the iPhone 6/6s. In addition, the case comes with a steep price tag of $129. Still, the company’s revolutionary ideology is a promising step toward a future where none of us may ever need to charge our phones again.
