Reviews / Restaurant

Graze came on to the restaurant scene in Madison about a decade ago and is still going strong. Located on Pickney Street, Graze is directly across the street from one of the most beautiful state capital buildings in the nation. You’ll have no trouble seeing it given Graze’s modern, mostly glass architecture which has the capital nearly looming over your shoulder to help you choose your lunch, brunch or dinner selection.

While the capital might want to help you, there really is nothing on the menu that will disappoint. Graze, despite its glass architecture, is a cozy gastro pub that specializes in farm-to-table delights. While farm to table seems to be on offer everywhere, you must remember that a 15-minute drive in any direction from Graze puts you in the heart of Wisconsin farm land, so there is a serious “eat local” feeling to the menu that tells you all about the farms responsible for your meal.

While again, the menu is largely fantastic whatever you choose, The Graze Burger (dinner only) is truly special and should be at nearly $25. But for that $25, you’ll get a burger deemed the best burger in the United States by multiple publications. What does Chef Tony offer? How about a patty made from ribeye, short ribs, sirloin and ground bacon cooked to perfection and served on a sesame seed, SarVecchio brioche with caramelized onions and a cabernet jus? It’s so fantastic that cheese was deemed surplus to requirements in the capital of America’s Dairyland.
