We’re about two months into the New Year and hopefully you’ve kept some, if not all of your resolutions. While they can be difficult to maintain, don’t quit now — just 10 more months to go!

We examined the most common New Year’s resolutions and why many people fail, yet continue to make the same resolution the following year. Here were some of 2017’s most popular New Year’s resolutions.

Get Healthy

According to data pulled from Google by iQuanti, this resolution had a 13 percent increase over last year during the same period and was searched for 55,177,290 times. This is the most common resolution counting for about 25 percent of all New Year’s resolutions. Unfortunately, determination lasts only a few weeks, whether it is going to the gym or eating more healthily and people soon get back into their old routine.

Get Organized

On just about every New Year’s resolution list, being organized is almost always listed — being organized can be an attainable goal.

Live Life to the Fullest

Given hectic, stressful lifestyles, millions of Americans are more interested in making memories and enjoying life. This has become an extremely popular resolution in recent years, as people want to bring balance to their body, mind and soul.

Quit Smoking

Everyone knows smoking is harmful not only to you but to everyone around you. There is nothing beneficial about it and, fortunately, many smokers realize the drawbacks of smoking and want to quit. However, about 10 percent of those who make it their resolution find their way back in about six months.

Quit Drinking

You’ve heard it time and time again from those who suffer from terrible hangovers: I’m done drinking, I’ll never have another drink again and so on. Nevertheless, there are a considerable number of people who make a resolution to quit or at least reduce their drinking. However, similar to smoking, most people find themselves with another drink in their hand shortly into the New Year.

Get Out of Debt

Paying off debt is an extremely popular resolution many people have difficulty accomplishing. Keeping this resolution requires a major reduction in conventional habits or leisure activities — which many people struggle to give up.

Spend More Time with Family

The beginning of the year, thanks to the holidays, is an ideal time to reconnect with family and loved ones — making this a seemingly achievable goal. Unfortunately, as people get back into work and their daily routine, a small number of people actually set time aside to maintain this goal.

Manage Stress Better

While this sounds like a natural and reasonable solution, it is rather difficult, vague and hardly measurable, with few people sticking to this goal.

Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination, which also goes along with better maintaining stress levels, has become a serious problem. The practice, particularly widespread among students, estimates 95 percent of college students are engaged in procrastination, making it a common resolution.

Travel

Traveling may seem reasonable in the beginning of the year, with a brand new calendar to look ahead to, but once life starts happening people tend to forget about travel plans and spend money on less exciting opportunities — resulting in an unchecked bucket list and crossed off resolution.

Check out Asheville, North Carolina’s, Fall Lineup

Asheville, North Carolina, stands out as a must-visit destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding areas as leaves begin to change color. The variation in elevation makes Asheville’s fall season one of the longest in North America. Fall colors here emerge slowly and work down from higher elevations over several weeks, according to Dr. Howard S. Neufeld, biology professor, Appalachian State University, who has tracked Southern Appalachian fall color for decades.
