Destinations / Europe

The Eixample District in Barcelona is one of the most diverse districts for shopping, eating and sightseeing. Explore the Eixample District for $100 or less.

Enjoy a late breakfast at Dora Tapas Bar and enjoy eggs with spicy sausage and cheese with your choice of bread and coffee to start your day ($12). Head to La Placa de la Sagrada Familia, a major attraction in the city, and explore the masterpiece by Antoni Gaudi ($20).

Head to La Taquería to enjoy Mexican street food for lunch. Here you can enjoy tacos al pastor or burritos and Mexican beers or sodas all while taking in the scenery around you ($13).

Walk to Casa Battló, another masterpiece by Gaudi. Walking allows you to view the Spanish culture through food, shopping and architecture.

Casa Battlo, located in the center of Barcelona ($27), is called the house of bones by the locals as it has a skeletal characteristic in its design. A guide will help you explore Modernisme architecture through the museum, the different house floors and the atrium of the building.

Take the train and head to Arc de Triomf to see the monument that signifies the historical beginning of modern Barcelona ($3 fare). Walk around to explore graffiti art in the area.

Head to Parc de la Ciutadella, not in Eixample but a two-minute walk away. It houses a beautiful garden with a fountain, a park, a small lake and the Catalonia Parliament building.

For dinner, head to Cervesaria Catalana for dinner, where you can enjoy your choice of tapas and sangria ($20).

You’ll be in Gaixample so you can explore gay bars and nightlife in Barcelona.
