Looking for a show-stopping cocktail for your Halloween party this year? Try Scapegrace Black gin. This spirit is the world’s first naturally black gin that changes color when mixed with citrus or tonic.
Founded by Mark Neal and Daniel McLaughlin, this gin from New Zealand won World’s Best London Dry Gin at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2018. The product uses no artificial colors or flavors. Aronia berry, pineapple, saffron, sweet potato and butterfly pea flower sourced from Southeast Asia have been artfully combined to give Scapegrace its signature black color and flavor. A pigment in the butterfly pea flower, called anthocyanin, causes the liquid to shift from black to deep blue, violet and finally electric pink when combined with an acid like citrus. Try these recipes for your spooky celebration.
