I think many of us can agree wearables these days are taking it a tad too far when it comes to how much technology they can fit into a little wristwatch, so the Calendar Watch by What? Watch is a welcome reprieve from data overload.
This classically styled timepiece provides smart technology in a minimalistic design. Upon first glance, the Calendar Watch looks like your standard wristwatch but when you look closer, you find a few unique designs embedded within.
Foremost among them is the calendar that syncs with the calendars on your mobile devices. How it works is shaded wedges represent your busy times in the day while the light areas are your free time for that day.
The watch adjusts automatically to match the time on your phone or iPad, so if you enter a different time zone you’ll see the hands on your watch automatically move to catch up. You can also program it from your phone rather than change the time manually from the outset.
It’s a great, simple way of keeping track of meetings and due dates without having to shuffle through multiple screens on a wearable or phone. The battery on the watch is able to last up to two weeks before needing a new charge.
The project already reached its fundraising goal on Kickstarter and is currently in the process of tweaking a few designs, but the watches are expected to ship out this year.
