Don’t miss out on the year’s most-anticipated openings for November.

Rossoblu is set to open up in Los Angeles this month. It’s the second restaurant from chef Steve Samson, and derives inspiration from summertime Bologna and communal dining (though that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be forced to share a table with strangers). The chef says he’s not looking to create a new take on the cuisine, but rather sharply focus on this lone region in Italy.

Nearby in Venice, Calif., Evan Funke is opening Felix, offering even more Italian fare — 16 different types of pasta from various regions of the country. The chef is studying up on his pizza making in Naples and hopes to stretch his skills to create a supremely comprehensive pasta list.

In Chicago, chef David Posey and his wife and business partner Anna Posey are bringing Elske to the city’s bustling culinary scene. Both a tasting menu and an a la carte menu are available, but the tasting menu, which boasts a marriage of Midwest and Danish inspirations, is affordable at only $80 per person for all eight courses.

After appearing on Top Chef, Kwame Onwuachi is bringing what promises to be an interesting mix to Washington, D.C. The global menu at The Shaw Bijou is inspired by the chef’s experiences with Creole, Nigerian, Jamaican and French cultures, with his Bronx heritage added in. However, the dining room only seats 32, so it may take some extra effort to get in.

For something a bit more casual, there’s buzz following Mean Sandwich in Seattle. While chef Kevin Pemoulie assures the menu is all top-notch with actual cooking, the aim is high turnover, take-out and delivery.
