Tips / Travel

A long flight across the ocean is stressful for people who have a hard time sleeping in the air. A great playlist can help you relax while also keeping you in a perky mood, so here are a few genres you might want to have on hand for your next trip.

Classical

Classical music has been proven to help relieve stress and is a great tool for helping relax if flying makes you nervous. It’s calming and might even put you to sleep so you can breeze through most of the flight.

Pop

Sugary sweet pop tunes are great for uplifting you when you’re in a sour mood. The beat of the songs are designed to increase your heart rate and make you feel excited, so make sure to throw a little Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez into your music library.

Heavy Metal

Nothing is more effective at helping you tune out the torturous trills of a baby’s cry like some old-fashioned heavy metal. In fact, all the shouting and screaming will probably sound like a little extra bass to your beat.

Easy Listening

Research has shown that songs with roughly 60 beats per minute stimulate both sides of the brain, helping to relieve anxiety. Next time you’re worried about hitting the air just pop in a little Enya or even some light Adele to make yourself a little less frantic.
