Even in the wilderness, we need to know how to make a good cup of coffee. You don’t want to be caught unaware with a bear in your tent trying to figure out how use a paper towel and hollowed out rock to make a bad cup of coffee. When camping, coffee lovers usually prepare for these sort of contingencies. But you don’t always think about this sort of thing in a city.

With such a plethora of urban coffee options, no one worries about getting their next fix, but if you end up in a hotel or an apartment without a coffeemaker, routine gets thrown off fast. Sure you can run out in your pajamas — disoriented, in a new place looking for the nearest version of a bakery or local coffee place — or you can invest in a solution.

One option is to go out and buy a cheap coffeemaker and leave it with your host after your stay. Or you can invest in a coffee-making gadget that will be with you on a more permanent basis. Enter Aeropress.

Aeropress is one of the best options out there because it is compact, convenient and is something you will use at home, too. There are a few pieces and parts you have to keep together, but a small cylinder and a few filters are all you need to bring with you on the road.

The Aeropress kit is $34 on the website and includes the press (made of durable BPA-free plastic so it won’t break in your bag), micros filters and coffee scoop — all of the essentials.

And here is the best part: Brew time is 20–40 seconds.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
