Tips / Destination

If there’s one thing never lacking in Manuel Antonio, it’s excellent places to eat. Costa Ricans know how to cook up some delicious foods, rich in spices and flavor, so you can’t go wrong no matter where you choose to dine. Here are a few of the best the town has to offer.

Café Milagro

Café Milagro is a bit of an institution in Manuel Antonio, having set up shop more than 20 years ago. The restaurant offers live music every night of the week, along with some of the best coffee and cocktails in the region. It’s a lively atmosphere, and the perfect place to go for a good time.

Falafel Bar

The Manuel Antonio Falafel Bar is an excellent option for cheap food and great fun. The covered dining section is located right off a main street and gets pretty busy. However, the falafels and shawarma are so tasty you’ll find yourself coming back for more.

Café Agua Azul

Café Agua Azul serves Latin flavors in a unique establishment overlooking the sea, as well as the kitchen. The tuna tostadas and calamari are standouts, but you’re welcome to have a burger if seafood doesn’t speak to you. The restaurant isn’t large, so it fills up quickly; be sure to get there early!

Sancho’s

Sancho’s offers traditional Mexican staples like tacos, enchiladas and burritos like no other place in Manuel Antonio. The atmosphere can get a bit loud — it is attached to a bar — but the staff and locals are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home.
