Borgo Egnazia is more a small village than a hotel. The gorgeous fortified walls of the complex sit amid a picturesque backdrop of rolling hills and blue sea, and feels like something out of a fairytale. With its stunning views, luxurious accommodations and perfect placement near the seaside town of Savelletri, it’s no wonder the place is popular among celebrities.
Check-in at Borgo Egnazia is a breeze, with guests having no need to stop by a front desk — everything happens in your room! The rooms themselves are wonderful and chock full of luxurious amenities, ranging from private gardens and balconies to beautiful stone and carved-wood furniture. They even offer cottages for families with children. The amount of restaurants on site — there are five — make it easy to never leave the premises. Borgo Egnazia also boasts four crystal-clear pools, two private beaches, a spa, tennis courts and a fitness center.
Where the hotel truly shines is its staff. Both pleasant and professional, everyone on site made us feel completely at home without seeming disingenuous. Any need was quickly seen to, and there were no issues doing our stay.
Borgo Egnazia is a work of art and an incredible getaway in Puglia, far away from the hectic pace of the larger cities, offering a charming escape for travelers who want to explore the beauty of Italy away from popular tourist zones.
