Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Every April, San Antonio comes alive during Fiesta. The 11-day annual festival began in 1891 to honor those who died in the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. This year marks the 126th celebration.

Fiesta hosts events for the entire family. Several pre-Fiesta events take place in March and early April. The fun really kicks off on opening day. More than 100 events take place around the city during the 11-day festival including performances, sports, special cuisine, exhibits and parades. The Battle of Flowers Parade is the second-largest parade in the United States, after the Tournament of Roses Parade. Held on an afternoon during Fiesta, the parade celebrates all things Texas and is completely planned and directed by women. The River Parade is another popular event during Fiesta. More than 45 decorated floats sail through the River Walk on the San Antonio River. Fiesta Carnival runs throughout the festival, with food, games and family-friendly activities.

While some events are free, many require you to purchase tickets ahead of time. Check the website for a full listing of prices and dates.

Nonprofit organizations and other community groups help make Fiesta a success each year while giving back to the people of San Antonio. Visit the website for a full listing of 2017 events.
