Most people cure a case of writer’s block by buckling down at home in front of a computer, but if your case is serious enough maybe you need to hop a flight halfway across the world.
The Connemara Writer’s Retreat in Ireland is a week-long getaway designed to help inspire and spark your creative mind. Led by bestselling author and filmmaker Phil Cousineau, the retreat is set among the picturesque landscape of Western Ireland at the renowned Renvyle House. Here you’ll participate in workshops designed to help invigorate your writing as well as take time to explore the surrounding area.
Each morning begins with games and prompts to help you get started, with discussions led by Cousineau and other invited guests. Throughout the week, you’ll depart Renvyle House for two excursions to famous landmarks in the area: Clifden Castle and the island of Inisbofin. Here, you’ll be compelled to write whatever comes to mind.
It’s a fantastic way to explore the wilds of Ireland while also learning new techniques to help you in your craft. Even if you’re not a writer, we’re pretty sure you can fake it well enough to enjoy the week.
