In the United States, marijuana legalization is on the rise as state after state continues to pass legislation allowing the substance to be used in limited amounts. The travel industry latched onto this trend by opening cannabis-friendly resorts, hotels and activities in states where the herb is legal.
As resorts pop up around the nation, a company called travelTHC developed a website and search capability to aid travelers in finding the perfect place for their weed-friendly holiday. Currently, the site features lodging options in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, but more states will be added as time goes on and laws are passed.
The site lets you choose your location, then your more-specific location (e.g., Colorado Springs, Denver Metro, or Mountains and Ski Resorts). You also can specify your budget per night and search through hundreds of listings for the best option for your trip. Mountain lodges, river cabins, downtown lofts and private villas are just a few of the lodging choices featured on travelTHC. Each property describes its marijuana policy that describes where smoking is allowed and any specific disposal instructions. Some lodging options also feature group activities and baking lessons to make the most of your experience in mile-high regions.
Book your accommodation directly on travelTHC’s website and let your hazy holiday begin.
