Follow these simple steps to pack your clothes and maximize your suitcase space. This method has the added benefit of keeping clothes wrinkle-free.
Separate your clothes; you’re going to be packing all your shirts together and your pants together.
Start with t-shirts; they are the easiest. Lay the first shirt out flat. Lay the next over the top, with the second shirt’s collar at the first shirt’s hem. Continue layering shirts in this opposite pattern until there are about six to eight. If you have eight shirts, there should be four sleeves at each corner of the pile. Fold the stacks of sleeves into the middle of the pile. Now fold the entire pile in half. Starting from the end without a fold, roll the stack tightly. Ta-da! All of your shirts neatly packed into one space-economizing roll. At this point you may want to loop rubber bands around it to keep it from unrolling.
The same method can be applied to long-sleeved shirts, shorts and pants, though with jeans, the rolls can get rather thick. You can lay your jeans flat on top of the rolls after packing them.
After all your clothes are rolled, place them in the bottom of you suitcase, filling in any holes with socks and underwear. Finally, marvel at how much space you saved and can fill up with souvenirs!
