Hotels around the world have bars, restaurants and sometimes even casinos for their guests to enjoy after hours. But some hotels are reaching beyond the average amenities and offering late-night excursions for their guests involving unique activities and memorable experiences.

For example, Juma Amazon Lodge in Brazil offers motorized canoe tours among the darkness of alligators’ natural habitats. This free journey down the river lets you view both baby and granddaddy alligators up close and personal. Some guides even catch them to give you a closer look.

In Dubai, the posh Burj Al Arab Jumeirah opens its pool late at night to select guests who reserve in advance. While not cheap ($1,900), the package includes a massage, refreshments and the inexplicable views of Dubai from 500 feet above.

Sunrises are easy to catch in most locales, but why not see it on a hike with fellow travelers? In Jamaica, the Strawberry Hill Hotel organizes hikes that start at 2 a.m. and last eight hours, including a stop for the epic sunrise from atop Jamaica’s highest point at 7,400 feet. The hike costs $40 for up to 5 guests.
