City dwellers are often limited in their options when it comes to grilling outdoors. Open fire bans and a lack of space contribute to a harsh climate for those who love the open flame and the taste of charcoal on their burgers.
PhotonGrill is here to save the day. This high-tech grill is powered by the sun and requires no flame whatsoever, but still provides the same wonderful flavor you’ll get from a traditional grill. You can use it in public parks or even on your own balcony.
The grill is only 1.5 meters in diameter and weighs 7 pounds, so it’ll fit snugly inside a backpack if you want to take it on your next camping trip. Not only does it grill, but it also barbecues, bakes, fries and boils all in 15 minutes.
Since the PhotonGrill is entirely powered by the sun, you just need mostly clear skies to charge it up. Once it’s done, it’ll have enough juice to cook your dinner and charge your phone! As an added bonus, the grill uses a dish to draw in rays from the sun but that dish can also be used as a satellite receiver that gives you Internet access.
The developers are also working on a companion piece that’ll allow you to cool your food and drinks in a makeshift refrigerator, also powered by the sun, until you’re ready to grill.
It’s pretty hard not to want one of these things, right? The PhotonGrill is still in the testing and demo phase, but you can sign up to be notified when it comes up for sale on their website.
