For daring travelers wondering what U.S. cities see the most ghost sightings, Lawn Love recently ranked 2023’s Best Cities for Paranormal Activity. The study analyzed 200 of the biggest cities in the United States and compared them based on four categories: paranormal sightings, Bigfoot sightings, haunted sites and paranormal conventions.

The 10 best cities for paranormal activity are:

  1. Los Angeles, California
  2. New York, New York
  3. Chicago, Illinois
  4. San Diego, California
  5. New Orleans, Louisiana
  6. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  7. San Antonio, Texas
  8. Dallas, Texas
  9. Indianapolis, Indiana
  10. Las Vegas, Nevada

Los Angeles possesses the highest number of haunted sites and the most paranormal conventions and events. The City of Angels is ranked No. 2 for witches and No. 4 for vampires. California is also the best state for UFO sightings.

Travelers can explore New York’s 328 cemeteries and a countless number of other haunted sites. Philadelphia has the second-highest cemetery access, but not as many ghost sightings as other destinations on the list.

Thirteen Texan cities appear on the top half of the ranking, with San Francisco claiming the third-largest number of haunted sites followed by Houston and El Paso. El Paso also spooks residents with the most ghost sightings, followed by Austin, Laredo and Corpus Christi.

Are You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?

Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
