Overlooking the Colorado River, the Hyatt Regency Austin is centrally located to the best Austin has to offer. I stayed at the property on a long weekend getaway.
I arrived to the hotel before check-in; luckily my room was ready, as I was excited to drop off my bags and explore. The front desk attendant informed me the property was undergoing renovations and the loud construction would be limited to the afternoon hours. Thankfully, the noise was not bothersome. My room offered a prime view of downtown Austin and the Colorado River. All of the standard amenities were available. I appreciated the outlets conveniently located on the nightstand for charging my phone.
Fresh-baked cookies sat on a table in the lobby during the weekday afternoon. I enjoyed this sweet touch. I stopped in the lobby Starbucks for a convenient pick-me-up. Later, I had a nightcap in the hotel’s lobby bar. I was impressed with the hotel’s gym. Located on the lobby level, the space isn’t very big but still features plenty of cardio and weight machines without feeling cramped. Boasting wall-to-ceiling windows, the gym overlooks the Colorado River.
The Hyatt Regency Austin is a quick walk or drive to many of Austin’s most popular attractions. I recommend this property for a business or leisure visit.
