LegacyBox is the type of product everyone could use at some point in his or her life. Whether you’re slushing through a closet full of your childhood memories from the 80s or 90s or being tasked with creating the perfect birthday present for Mom, if you’re wading in Polaroids or sloughing through VHS tapes, LegacyBox is for you.
It starts when you send LegacyBox all of your clutter. They’ll send you a crush-proof box with barcodes for all of your items and a pre-paid shipping label. Every kind of tape or film you can imagine, photos in every size (even negatives) and cassettes and audio reels — just send it to them. They’ll take it all. Wait about four weeks and they’ll return all of your memories to you on slim, easy-to-store DVDs that are meant to last more than 100 years and a thumb drive, as well as all of the originals you sent them in the first place, for you to choose to discard or keep.
Pricing is based upon how much you have stored away, according to how many individual tapes, films and sets of 25 pictures you have. For three tapes, three films, 75 photos or a combo, you’ll be charged $75. The largest package they offer is the closet package, which is $500 and can fit up to 20 tapes, 20 films, 500 photos or a combination of all three.
