Head to malt whisky country and experience Scotland along the Malt Whisky Trail in Moray Speyside. With the largest concentration of malt whisky distilleries in the world, Moray Speyside is a must-visit destination for Scotch connoisseurs.
Begin in Ballindalloch at The Glenlivet Distillery and check out the inner workings of the world-famous spirits. After a few tastings and some history, check out the museum and café before heading to the next stop.
Next up, head to the village of Aberlour for The Mash Tun, a legendary stop on the trail. Located in the heart of town, the old stone house sits on the banks of the River Spey and is a local favorite. Grab a drink and something to eat before your next stop.
Continue on through the region’s diverse terrain with white sands, River Spey, lush forests, mountainsides and unique architecture, like the Telford Bridge. Just over the bridge is the Quaich bar, located in the Craigellachie Hotel. Taste rare vintage whiskies and revamped Edwardian styling.
Head north of Craigellachie to Rothes and Elgin at the top of the trail. Check out live music, comedy and other shows at the Drouthy Cobbler café and bar. Peruse the expertly curated whisky list alongside stone walls, rustic decor and traditional tweed design.
