Gain access to maps and turn-by-turn navigation without using cellular data by downloading MAPS.ME. This app is perfect for travelers, whether you’re seasoned or going abroad for the first time. Also if you’re country hopping, you might not want to waste any time trying to get a phone for the country you’re in, making the app the best option.

All the maps are free and come with navigation. They can be used while walking, driving or cycling. There are also cool features included, like the points of interest marked on the maps. Some of these are attractions, hiking trails and any other place missed by the maps.

Do not worry about using data to search either — the search feature is offline. Your network provider will never charge you. You can search through different categories — for example, restaurants, cafes, tourist attractions and ATMs. This app is a go-to for anyone that needs offline access while abroad. Another great feature is the app utilizes OpenStreetMap. This is an open-source map alternative to Google and Apple Maps. Millions of people update OpenStreetMap, meaning you will never miss any of the hidden treasures in the country you’re visiting. Download the app and give it a try.
