July marks the celebration of National Hot Dog Month. What better way to celebrate the summer season than enjoying the iconic food?

Throw a Party

Use the celebration as an excuse to host a hot dog-themed party. Grill up a variety of different hot dogs and create a build-your-own-dog bar complete with unique toppings in addition to the old standbys.

Dine Out

There are plenty of restaurants around the country specializing in only this classic food. Destination Dog in Philadelphia serves up hot dogs inspired by locations around the world. Frank  in Austin offers customizable, exotic hot dogs and sausages. The iconic Pinks Hot Dogs in Los Angeles draws long lines for its classic and creative hot dogs.

Make Your Own

Look up recipes and try your hand at homemade hot dogs. Invite your friends and family over to sample the finished product.

Go Vegetarian

Purists will say a veggie dog isn’t a real hot dog, but that doesn’t mean you can’t try the vegetarian-friendly version.

Make a Day Of It

Though the celebration lasts the entire month, July 18, today, is National Hot Dog Day. If nothing else, pick up some hot dogs to grill for dinner.
