A new luxury lodge in New Zealand has been born out of a former olive press building. The converted building looks out over the Kaikoura mountain range and coast.
Appropriately named The Olive House, the lodge is on the site of the Hapuku Lodge. Here, guests can stay in other unique accommodations like tree houses.
The new Olive House is set in a building that held the farm’s olive press. It has three king-sized bedrooms and can be separated into a two-bedroom option. The interior includes large windows for viewing the olive orchard, dramatic mountains and ocean. Each room has a spa bath with further views, a Danish wood-burning fireplace and twin balconies with a personalized sound system. The house offers three-course meals of local food like fresh game and seafood.
Kaikoura is known for its marine life and stunning landscapes; it’s well respected as an eco-marine destination for viewing wildlife like dolphins, penguins, petrels and fur seals.
