While other brands may get more attention, Obermeyer’s collection of ski gear certainly delivers on a number of fronts.

The company’s women’s ski coats are top-notch. Take the Reflection jacket as proof: The company packed this product with so many impressive features, it’s truly greater than the sum of its parts. On the ski slopes, this coat is great option.

The coat delivers excellent warmth and water resistance while also focusing on breathability — an important factor in high-activity use. The mesh gussets and armpit zippers allow you to regulate your temperature and avoid getting sweaty — a dangerous proposition in snow.

The anatomical fit means this jacket manages to be flattering despite its superior warmth; it certainly doesn’t look bulky or baggy. The Obermeyer website’s fit guide is an accurate tool if you’re buying online.

The Reflector coat’s numerous pockets will help keep you organized; there’s even one designed specifically for your cell phone, and another for your ski goggles. The sleeves feature inner stretch cuffs with thumbholes, and an inner powder skirt that helps keep snow out of your clothing. The skirt can be snapped to the side to keep it out of the way when it’s not needed.

The hood is designed to be helmet compatible, and the fleece-lined collar helps keep your neck warm. If the saying “There’s no bad weather, only bad clothing” is true, then Obermeyer is the perfect antidote to winter’s chill.
