The Patagonia clothing and gear brand made a name for itself in the adventure and extreme sports world. After all, the company is named for the vast and diverse natural region that spans Argentina and Chile, to which many adventure junkies travel for hiking, skiing and observing unique wildlife. As such, it makes sense Patagonia produces some of the best outdoor gear in the world. One indestructible item ideal for any type of getaway (no matter how adventurous) is Patagonia’s 40-liter Black Hole Duffel Bag.
The rolling bag lays down flat for packing purposes, and then stands upright for easy transport via two wheels at the base of the bag. Forget having to pay checked bag fees as this bag meets all standard carry-on regulations.
The large main compartment stores bigger items while two zippered side pockets and one inside-the-lid mesh pocket hold smaller essentials. Made from waterproof material, the bag also has compression capabilities to shrink in size when not completely full.
Patagonia also sells larger versions of the Black Hole Duffel Bag, which hold up to 60, 70 and even 120 liters, but the 40-liter version is the best bet to carry on.
The Black Hole Duffel Bag can be purchased on Patagonia’s website in five colors (blue, white, black, navy blue or craft pink) for $299.
