If you’re a casual Outlander fan, you may only associate this historical drama-fantasy with its European settings, including Scotland, Dublin and Paris. However, if you stuck with the show (or the extensive book series) long enough, you’d have followed the characters to the American colonies — which means if you want to plan some Outlander-themed tourism, you can do so without leaving the country.
Two New York destinations that have appeared in Outlander? Saratoga and nearby Ticonderoga. To get up close and personal with these two destinations and their Outlander connections, visit Saratoga National Historical Park and then Fort Ticonderoga.
Both will appeal to historical tourism fans in general and are hosting November events you can add to your itinerary. Saratoga National Historical Park hosts multiple educational events in the visitor center’s theater, touching on topics such as German soldiers’ roles in the Revolutionary War and interesting individuals who left their mark on the landscape. Fort Ticonderoga anticipates hosting living history events in both November and December.
(Not an Outlander fan? If you prefer Hamilton, you may still want to make the trek to Saratoga, to see the historical park’s Schuyler House.)

Insta FeedAre You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?
Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
