More than 1,200 glamping cabins recently joined Marriott in an acquisition set to bring more travelers closer to nature. Postcard Cabins, formerly Getaway, was founded in 2015 with the mission to bring free time in nature to more people.

Marriott’s acquisition of Postcard Cabins marks a milestone in the outdoor accommodations sector, as more and more travelers continue to seek peace and disconnect from their daily lives. The entire Postcard Cabins portfolio is expected to be part of Marriott’s planned outdoor-focused collection with anticipated integration into Marriott’s system and platforms (including Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app) in 2025.

Postcard Cabins operates 29 locations, all within two hours’ driving distance from major U.S. cities. The brand features cabins in the Eastern and Western Catskills, New York; Chattahoochee and Talladega Valley, Georgia; Barber Creek and Starved Rock, Illinois; Running Springs, California; Mount Vernon, Washington; Wimberley, Texas; Blake Brook and Machimoodus, Massachusetts; and High Springs, Florida.

Cabins typically include a bedroom; bathroom with provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash; stocked kitchen; and outdoor features like a firepit, chairs and picnic table. Cabins come in one- and two-bed configurations. WiFi is available at select locations, including Shenandoah North, Eastern and Western Catskills sites, and Lake Hartwell.

Outdoor suites are available at certain locations (Eastern Catskills, Machimoodus, Shenandoah, Starved Rock and Talladega Valley), which feature a heated soaking tub, spa robes, fire pit, hammock and outdoor string lights.

Platform Helps Remote Workers, Business Travelers Find Work-Friendly Hotels

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
