Posh bars and clubs pop up on every other block in the socially and politically active city of Washington, D.C., but few have the allure and the views of the bar atop the W Hotel on 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest.
POV sits a few steps from the White House lawn and epitomizes the watering hole for D.C. power players. Young activists and social butterflies flock to the roof deck for creative cocktails and incomparable views of the nation’s capital and her towering monuments.
Consult your closet before planning a trip to POV as the rooftop lounge enforces a dress code of casual sophistication. The code is only applicable to guests after 9 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays, but arriving in sneakers and casual clothes at any other time may result in a few judgmental stares.
Weekly happy hour deals entice D.C.´s elite to settle into the sofas and sample late- night snacks such as duck quesadillas, herbed shrimp pizza and curry vegetable samosas with apricot chutney. During the daytime, POV evokes a more relaxed ambiance and welcomes the District´s brunch crowd for juicy brunch burgers, steak and eggs, eggs benedict and refreshing mimosas.
POV hosts private events and group dinners for 15 to 50 people so long as they are arranged in advance. In order to see and be seen in D.C.´s social climate, the air is just fine up at POV.

Insta FeedAre You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?
Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
