Located just off the main drag in Fort Collins, Colo., Restaurant 415 is a great place for dinner. We went to the restaurant on our first night in Fort Collins. Hungry and wanting to try everything, we decided to share several dishes.
Plates on the menu are arranged by price, making it easy to differentiate dish size. We decided on two items from the smaller plate selection and two entrée-sized portions. To start, I ordered a Paloma, a tequila and hand-juiced grapefruit juice cocktail. It was a tasty and refreshing start to my meal.
The Brussels sprouts with garlic, orange and Parmesan arrived first — we devoured them. Next up was the bacon mac and cheese. The classic comfort food was filling without being too rich. My two dining companions and I came to Colorado from the East Coast, where great pizza is readily available, so we were slightly disappointed by the pepperoni pie we ordered. It was flavorful, but not up to par with a New York or New Jersey slice. I knew I wanted to split the When Pigs Fly, with house-made fried chicken, orange-infused waffles and bacon-thyme maple syrup. This was by far my favorite dish. The tender and perfectly spiced fried chicken combined with the fluffy waffles and salty-sweet syrup was the perfect bite.
In general, service was a bit slow, though we attributed this to the laid-back, Colorado vibe. If I had been less hungry, the relaxed service would’ve bothered me less. Overall, Restaurant 415 is a great dinner spot for groups looking to try a little bit of everything.
