This charming restaurant is found smack in the middle of the touristy Temple Bar area of Dublin, but you wouldn’t know it.
The large menu is largely inspired by New York-style classics such as chicken wings in a basket and big burgers. At the same time you can also choose from sandwiches and salads if you’re looking for something lighter.
On a rainy Friday afternoon, the place was packed to the rafters with tourists and locals alike. Portions are massive, so it’s best to go once you’ve worked up an appetite walking around town.
The burger with mozzarella and pesto was well-cooked and accompanied by a mountain of fries. Quality ingredients were used throughout, and the whole meal was top notch.
Wash down your nosh with a beer from the large selection, which includes local favorites such as O’Hara’s Irish stout. Eating out in Dublin isn’t cheap, but Elephant & Castle offers a relatively good deal. A burger, chips and a bottle of O’Hara’s came in at €19.
If you’re looking for a hearty meal to soak up some of your afternoon beers, Elephant & Castle is the place to go. You’re guaranteed not to leave hungry, and the window seats are great for people watching.
