If you visit Dublin, you’d be silly to miss out on the Guinness Storehouse.

Guinness Irish Stout is arguably Ireland’s most famous export, and the beer remains popular around the world. The Storehouse offers you the opportunity to see how the stout is made on site at the historic St. James’s Gate Brewery.

If you’re interested in the technical side of things, there is plenty of information that explains the brewing process. The Storehouse is arranged over seven floors, and you can follow the making of a pint throughout.

The tour also takes in some of Irish history, letting you do some learning in combination with your booze. What’s not to love? There is plenty to interest history buffs, as well as an interesting section on Guinness marketing campaigns, but the real action starts on the higher floors.

Up here you can have a go at pulling your own pint of the black stuff, or let somebody else do it for you at one of the various bars. For a tourist attraction, things can get quite atmospheric with jovial crowds listening to traditional Irish music.

However, the main attraction awaits on the top floor, which houses the Gravity Bar. Dublin is a fairly low rise city, so getting a view from above can be challenging. However, the seventh-floor bar offers 360-degree views over the Irish capital. It might only be seven floors up, but that is enough to see for miles on a clear day.

All in all, the Guinness Storehouse is a great attraction to visit, whether you want to learn about how Guinness is made or simply sip on a pint as you look over Dublin.

Advance bookings are advised during busy periods and can be made at the website.
