No matter the mode of transportation — plane, rail or bus — spending an extended period of time in a stationary position can take its toll on the body of a traveler. While the back might perhaps be the most common area of pain, the neck is certainly a close second. The prospect of sleeping in such a confined, uncomfortable space can seem like a nightmare. To address this common problem, Denmark-based RESTAHEAD developed a new neck rest. This small, portable device is able to support the neck of the user in a comfortable, tension-free position, allowing him or her to sleep while traveling as a passenger.
The RESTAHEAD Neck Rest ($40.90) is flexible, and adjusts to fit necks of consumers of all shapes and sizes. It is designed with a soft micro-suede fiber material, and features two pads on each side made of a polyester fiber filling. Additionally, it is machine washable, weighs a mere 120 grams and collapses to a slim, space-saving size when not in use. It can be used while sitting in an airplane or bus seat, or while lying on the floor, in bed or on a sandy beach.
