Very few luggage designers allow you to travel in style as well as Andiamo. Their popular luxury luggage is among some of the most sophisticated in the business, and this fall they’re releasing a new addition to their line-up — the Andiamo IQ.
The ‘smart’ bag will open a new door in travel innovation by allowing you to connect your luggage to your phone. Andiamo developed an app, which can be downloaded through iPhone or Android to allow you to remotely lock and unlock the IQ. In addition, the luggage helps prevent unexpected charges at the airport by internally weighing itself after you’ve packed, so you’ll know exactly how much you can fit in and what you might want to leave out. It connects to local WiFi hotspots, so you’ll be able to send and receive information during your travels, too.
One of the best innovations is the IQ’s ability to detect its distance from your smartphone. That means it’ll inform you when it’s coming down the ramp in the baggage claim area so you know when to look for it, as well as send you notifications if you travel further than 98 feet away. The luggage also includes a USB battery charger and mobile power pack so you can rev it up no matter where you go.
The app is multi-functional, so not only will it help you keep track of your luggage but you can use it to track your flight status, weather at your destination and use it to receive helpful suggestions on what you might need to pack for your trip based on local information.
The Andiamo IQ is set to drop fall 2015.
