Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

The Caribbean island of St. Lucia is known for its luxury resorts and lush island landscapes. During the busy summer months, visitors descend on the island in droves. To demonstrate the island’s place as a diverse cultural destination, St. Lucia announces its first SOLEIL St. Lucia Summer Festival. The inaugural festival is made up of six different festivals, taking placing May through October.

The festival series kicks off in May with St. Lucia Jazz, a three-day event celebrating Caribbean and international jazz music. Next up, Roots & Soul is dedicated to reggae, conscious hip-hop, Afropunk and R&B. Taking place June 16–18, the event also serves as the launch of St. Lucia Carnival, a month-long celebration of St. Lucian culture with dancing, parties, traditional food and music. Carnival culminates with a Parade of the Bands July 17–18.

The Food & Rum Festival invites chefs, wine and spirits connoisseurs and foodies from around the world to experience the best the island has to offer. Held Aug. 24–27, the event includes culinary demonstrations, rum and wine tastings, other dining experiences and musical performances. Sept. 15–17 marks the Country & Blues Festival, highlighting music rooted in folk traditions. These musicians act as storytellers, expressing the diversity of the musical style. The series concludes with the Arts & Heritage Festival during the entire month of October. The festival celebrates St. Lucia’s cultural heritage with performances, seminars, lectures, culinary experiences, parties and art exhibitions.
